Solvent Extraction Plant

The prepared material from Preparatory section is recieved in the Feed Hopper through Rotary Valve. The material in the hopper and the rotary valve togelher constitute on effective vapour seal while the latter also serves to regulate the feed. The hopper is further provided with the special switches for high level and low level indications. The latter If energised stops the band conveyor of extractor while the high level indication, transmits an audio visual signal to Preparatory Section for preparatory operator to take corrective measures.

The GLAMPTECH Extractor is long horizontal vessel, Rectangular in cross section in m.s. Construction. An articulated band conveyor inside the Extractor receives the material from Feed Hopper and transports it at a pre determined speed from the feed end to discharge end.

The band conveyor moves over rails suitably located inside the Extractor and rides on specially constructed sprockets ot either end. The speed of the band conveyor is easily adjustable within desired limits. An adjustable damper enables the regulation of height of bed of material on band conveyor.

A series of sprayers locoted above ihe band conveyor enables perfect spray of the solvent on fhe moving bed. Special spray breakers facilitates uniform distribution of solvent over the entire width of moving bed. Each spraying section is followed by a draining section.

Fresh slovent is admitted into the Extractor near the discharge end of the moving bed of material and the full miscella is recovered from the initial stage; thus ensuring the perfect counter current flow of material and the solvent.It is not merely a simple countercurrent flow. The miscella circulates in a closed circuit in each of the successive section by overflowing from each hopper of fhe Extractor after increasing gradually its oil content in each hopper. so in each section there is on equilibrium between the oil extracted from the seed in corresponding section and the difference in oil content of solvent overflowing the preceding hopper together with the solvent overflowing the following section.

The cleaning of the band conveyors is accomplished by high pressure jet spray of fresh solvent onto the return of band conveyor at discharge end which ensures perfect cleaning of mesh and eliminates completely the possibilities of choking of mesh and channeling.

is of versatile design and can be used for bleaching of conventional refined oils as well as pre-treated oils to be refined by the physical refining process. The bleaching operation of the oil is earned out completely out of contact with air. The slurry preparation and bleaching sre under vacuum where as the filtration is carried out in pressure leaf filters. This eliminates any possibility of oxidation of oils during the bleaching process and ensures production of high quality bleached oil.

Glamptech continuous bleaching , incorporates, simple, yet efficient dosing system for dosing of bleaching chemicals. This system enables accurate dosing rates as per the process requirements and final colour demands. This system is based on dry dosing of bleaching chemicals and avoids completely, handling of slurry which causes operational as well as mechanical problems.

The bleaching plant is further equipped with pressure leaf filters complete with stainless steel woven wire mesh filter leaves. The filters are further provided with pneumatically operated butterfly valves. The incorporation of pressure leaf filters ensures lower oil losses in the spent earth. The plant is provided with comprehensive instrumentation and control system for efficient control of all significant process parameter ensuring high quality oil consistently.

The dewaxing flants are incorporated with intrinsically designed crystallizes and maturators, which are specially made for very slow cooling with continuous agitation for better heat transfer.

In the process the oil to be dewaxed is passed through heat exchanger wherein the temperauture of oil is brought down to ambienttemperature and fed into the crystallizers for nuoleation and crystal formation under low temperature. The maturators are utilized for propagation and crystal growth of waxes and finally the crystallized mass is filtered in plate and frametype filter presses. The dewaxed oil such obtain ensures clearity of oil even at lower temperatures.

Meal Conditioning Plant

The extracted meal emerging from the D.T. is quite hot and at around 100 deg. C. It is received in the meal conveyor. This is ventilated conveyor in which the meal is cooled down to a convenient temperature as it is transported to the meal conditioning section. The cooling may also be effected by  draft of air through cyclone ond blower system.

Thus the cooled meal is received in the humidifier. In the humidification unit the desired quantity of water is metered in and finely sprayed on the material under process which is vigorously agitated and mixed. The emerging material generally contain moisture of over 10%.The Humidifier is generally located at 2 mtr. level from ground in order to enable direct packing of the material from it through a bagging device.

Process Equipment

Preparation of oil bearing material prior to its extraction is often under estimated by many processors. To achieve the best results in solvent extraction, the way in which the row material is prepared is almost as important as extraction equipments itself.

The feed stock should have a particle size small'enough to enable the solvent to reach right up to the core, but at the same time not so small as to constitute 'fines'; should have fairly uniform particle size in order to 'pack well' in the extractor and form a homogenous bed and should possess good percolation characteristics. Too big pieces in the feed results in high residual oil content in meal as the solvent may not be able to penetrate to the core. And too small particles or fines will lead to poor percolation and channeling effect, thus resulting in poor performance of the plant.

Fully conscious of the importance of proper preparation, glamptech have, after a long experience, developed a complete range of preparatory equipment suited for each type of raw material. Expeller cakes. Expeller cakes are adequately handled by cake breaker (702) and roller mill (703). In the former, iwo pairs of spiked rolls made in special alloy, running on heavy bearings, and with driving mechanism, break the large pieces of cakes in the smaller pieces. These pieces are further broken down into smaller pieces in the roller mill (703), in which special corrugated rolls are utilized. The resulting product is eminently suited for extraction.

Soyabeans
:
soyobean processing requires cracking, cooking and flaking operations. Glamptech cooker is a multistaged vertical vessel with steam heated bottom plates ond specially designed live steam injection arrangement so arranged thai the entire surface of material is uniformly covered by steam. The intrinsically designed agitator assembly moves the material and makes it pass from stage to stage. Automatic level adjustment and regulation devices are provided.

The cracked and cooked soyabean thus obtained are transported to next operation of flaking. Flaker machine is used for flaking various prepared oilseeds thus breaking down the cellular structures and exposing larger area for efficient oil extraction. The machine comprises of one pair of chilled cast iron, dynamically ballanced rolls mounted on heavy c. I housings; supported by suitable bearings. The gap between the rolls is adiusted as per the requirements with the help of hydraulic powerpock fitted with pressure switch to generate pre determined pressing power. Glamptech hydraulic flaker produces quality flakes of approximate 0. 25 mm to 0. 3 mm thickness, which is mo:,! Suitable for efficient extraction process.

Ricebran :

Ricebran is powdery material which does not allow percolation of solvent easily. Glamptech pelletizing machine is specially designed for producing porous pellets with good percolation characteristics.
